ABOUT ME
Â
Over the past 2 years I have been changing from a 20 year long career in nursing, over to a new career in Horticulture with a view to continue to nurture people, but through their connection with their plants and gardens.
Plants, and a deep love of the natural world have always been part of who I am and the decision to take my passion further is truly exciting. By attending Pershore College I have achieved the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) level 2 in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture. This learning has only increased my wonder and fascination for plants, the soil and the ecosystems within which they exist.
My passion for growing started as child. Through my grandad and my parents, I was privileged to experience the magic of seeds coming to life and becoming healthy plants producing beautiful flowers and amazing vegetables.
Living in Bristol in my early twenties I was able to take on my first allotment plot, and then after moving areas took on a new plot which I shared and developed with my husband and our young son. We have many wonderful memories of these plots and the people we shared them with.
We moved to rural Herefordshire in  2020, for me returning to the county I grew up in.  Here we have had the joy of developing our new garden to suit the family and our dog. The garden has provided me with the opportunity to grow and care for a much wider range of plants with a focus on seasonality, working with nature and supporting wildlife. My approach is organic and I believe that a garden rich in biodiversity and habitats will create a healthy environment which supports its self, thus leading to happy healthy plants and people.
